There was once a family with seven children, and they were always hungry. One day, their mother made pancakes for breakfast. But a pancake did not want to be eaten and run away. All of the family ran after it. The pancake was too fast to catch it. When the pancake rolled past by a kennel, a dog finds it and began to run after it. A rabbit in a field saw the pancake rolling past. The rabbit began to race with it. A duck on the stream began to chase it too. A cat in the farmyard, goat in s meadow, and a fox in some bushes also joined them. The pancake hitched a ride on a kite to escape the fox. It landed at the edge of a forest. There was a pig in a pen. The pig wanted to eat the pancake too, but he was too clever to say so. “What’s the hurry, Mr. Pancake?” he asked. “Let me walk through the forest with you. It’s a dangerous place.” The pancake said “Quickly! Don’t let them catch me!” The pig pretended not to hear and asked “What did you say?” again and again. At last the pig said “I can’t here you. You’ll have to come closer.” So the pancake jumped over the fence and into pen. The pig snapped it up and swallowed it…in one gulp.
Feeling
I felt that the cunning persons always benefit. I wonder this story is good for children. It might be better if the pig had retaliation. Anyway, the story is fun, and the children may like it. …By the way, everyone likes pancake, doesn’t he?
